Getting Ready for Spring in the Landscape and Business

This time of year gardening blogs, magazines and websites are chock-full of checklists about how to prepare your garden for the upcoming spring.

At DeSantis Landscapes we are certainly doing many of these tasks in our client’s landscapes, but from a larger, organizational perspective we are taking advantage of this time of year to get our staff prepared for the entire season. For example, we recently had a daylong training session that focused on SAFETY. All our Foremen and Management staff were trained and certified in First Aid and CPR and then in the afternoon each of our Foremen went through safety training on several key pieces of equipment.

Later this month we will be conducting our Spring Kick-off training. This is an annual event where we bring the entire DeSantis Landscapes team together for a day of training, team building and fun. We cover landscape related topics like plant identification and pruning skills but also business related topics like how to utilize our company software as well as a BBQ lunch prepared by our Management Team. It’s fun, it’s educational and it’s part of our mission to continually improve ourselves and our company.
