DeSantis Landscapes is pleased to introduce Enhancement Managers, Carlos Serrano and Andrew Brenneman.

“Carlos and Andy embody the traits all great managers should have,” said company president, Dean DeSantis. “Their expertise is second to none, and they demonstrate a remarkable gift for understanding project needs and complexities. No two are more experienced or better wizards at scheduling and project management.”

Carlos Serrano, Enhancement Manager, Salem Region

Carlos, who began his landscaping career in the 1990s, ran his own landscape company in southern California before joining DeSantis in 2020 with particular expertise in irrigation and water conservation – a perfect fit after decades managing drought-resistant commercial and residential landscapes in water scarce Los Angeles.

Carlos says helping clients make property improvements is an opportunity to have a positive impact. “I’ve had a great career,” says Carlos, “I enjoy working with our clients and crews, and finding new ways to solve problems while being careful about water, pesticides, and other issues our clients care so deeply about.” Carlos is working on a number of makeover projects that increase property value through improved curb appeal – “a significant return on investment in the long run,” he says.

Andrew Brenneman, Enhancement Manager, Portland Region

Andrew started out at DeSantis working for company founder Tony DeSantis. With nearly 30 years at the company, he is among the firm’s longest-serving employees.

Andrew says that being an Enhancement Manager allows him to use all his skills, as there is no landscape task too small nor a construction job too big that he hasn’t been involved in some way. As one of DeSantis’ most versatile professionals, moving into the enhancement side of the business was a logical next step. He says that one of his favorite projects are rain gardens, both as drainage solutions and as a way to add aesthetic and environmental value.

“I’m a flower guy, believe it or not, and pollinator-friendly perennials, flowering plants and trees, and ecolawns are a trend I’m happy to jump in on. It’s good for the health of the landscape and it brings properties up-to-date with more sustainable and beautiful alternatives, while also saving clients time and money,” he added.

About Landscape Enhancements

The DeSantis’ enhancement program is primarily an extension of the firm’s landscape maintenance division, with projects typically focused on improving the quality, safety, functionality and sustainability of the site.

Enhancements include, but are not limited to, repairs, renovations and updates; hardscape and site safety; drainage; turf-to-meadow conversions; curb appeal upgrades — and special projects, such as cleanups, small residential design-build, and irrigation installs.

Whether you know what you need to improve or not, the DeSantis enhancement team can provide you with everything you need to know about making continuous improvements in your landscapes, as well as helping your property be more cost- and resource-efficient.
