Stronger Together: What the First 50 Years Taught Us About the Value of Being Good Partners.

From the beginning, there was no question that being a trusted partner would be the baseline on which our company and its services would be built.

Today, that commitment to be partners, with our team and with our clients, has proven to be the key to creating true value. We know that in a world where you have more options than ever before, choosing a partner you can trust has become a lot more challenging. Transactions may be faster and easier, but long-lasting relationships are harder to find.

A few years ago, Bryan Gyllen joined the leadership team as an ownership partner—a role that cemented shared purpose and collaboration as part of our brand promise. At the same time, we created a set of 25 Fundamentals to anchor our commitment: do what’s right for our people, our customers and our community, and deliver on it every single time. We think this is the key to building and maintaining good relationships—especially in a time of declining trust, when it’s harder to solve key problems.

As we look ahead to our next chapter, having commonalities about the way we think about our team, the way we give back, and the way we learn from each other helps us keep our eye on the future. Five ways we do that together as a team and as a strategic partner to our client community can be summed up with these five things.

  1. We align strategically and transparently. We make sure the people we partner with and the people we employ are fully on board and aligned on key objectives. Whether it’s installing a bed of annuals, launching a new service, or building a new team, our commitments are rooted in win-win.
  2. We are a leader in shared readiness. We keep pace with who you are and what you expect, and make sure we are on the same page with the goals, outcomes, and needs.
  3. We share a mutual sense of process, including how success is measured at both the human level and at the organizational level—and how we can fix mistakes and missteps and turn them into lessons learned.
  4. We agree on areas of investment. We make sure there is alignment on costs, resource allocation, ways to save, and things to fund. Whether it’s a new landscape or a new employee, we know you want to know what the journey looks like, what it’s going to cost, and where there’s room for wiggle.
  5. We are relationship driven. Because the flip side of earning your goodwill is that it can be easy to lose. We know that nothing can build up trust better than a partner who can solve your problem and solve it fast. Although we put a great deal of faith in robots to deliver at speed, we know that when it counts, you need to know that you can count on us as humans to have your back.
