Josh Clarke Joins DeSantis Landscapes as Account Manager

Josh Clarke joins DeSantis Landscapes with a career in horticulture as long as a row of peppermint his family grew on their 1,500-acre mint farm and garden business in Montana.

Like a lot of ag kids, Josh developed a strong respect for the whims of Mother Nature, and says growing up on a farm taught a respect for weather and the enduring value of a sense of humor.

A natural-born storyteller and self-described plant geek, Josh’s journey to Portland, Oregon started in Bigfork, Montana with a landscape maintenance and design business, followed by various roles in nursey management, and plant sales and propagation before landing at Al’s Garden & Home Center in Sherwood, Oregon, where he served as retail nursery’s manager for 11 years.

Josh joins our Portland team, reporting to horticulturist and Regional Manager Laura House. “It was clear to me that Josh had plant knowledge and problem-solving know-how, which are necessary for an account manager in our industry. I knew from our first conversation that his ease with people, his expertise and life skills, and his enthusiasm for keeping customers happy would make him an exceptional member of the DeSantis Landscapes community.”

“I worked Farmer’s Markets with my family on weekends. It taught me how to listen to what people care about, the value of a great product, and the importance of squeezing as much opportunity as possible out of every minute of daylight. No matter what you’re selling or who you talk to, there’s always something to learn, and endless ways to have fun,” said Josh.

Welcome to DeSantis Landscapes, Josh. We know you’ll make a difference in helping us be better stewards of the environment we all share.

Josh attended Montana State University-Bozeman, where he majored in Ornamental Horticulture. Follow him on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/joshua-clarke-6338a98a/
